Site and growth plan options
Our client is a mining company with annual revenue of over $7.2b across the Group.
As part of our client’s overall strategy to better secure inventory and improve fulfilment, the Supply team was tasked to evaluate several warehouse strategy options and provide a warehouse strategy recommendation based on site plan options and growth plans.
The project objective was to ensure the timely supply of production materials and machine spares to the portal/drift to minimise production downtime and maximise site efficiency.
Strategy scaffolding
A number of warehouse strategies were considered to support four mine sites in relation to:
- current and targeted maturity levels
- various potential production scenarios
- CapEx & OpEx requirements
- securing inventory
- reducing production downtime
- operational risk
- key enablers.
Warehousing designed around projected production forecast
Prological delivered a number of warehousing strategies to support their projected production forecasts. In addition, internal pre-feasibility documentation was completed to initiate the internal Feasibility Study process.
